After nearly three years of talking with local and internationally known chefs, restaurant owners, authors and festival organizers, "Brenda's Bites" is expanding from a food-based radio show to one focusing on lifestyle topics. "Slice of Life" will continue to air from 10:30 - 11am every Sunday on AM 1520.
"Food-related topics and the thriving restaurant scene will still be a significant part of the show; I'll also interview guests on everything from healthy habits, medical advances, arts and culture, family and legal matters, and current activities around our region," Alesii said. “It’s not just a bite, it’s a slice pf life.”
"With the revitalization in and around the Buffalo Niagara region, there is no better time to delve into the newsworthy, educational, and just plain fun happenings throughout our area," she added.
To call Alesii a seasoned broadcast veteran is an understatement. For more than 25 years, the Williamsville resident has worked in all aspects of media: contributing reporter for the Buffalo News, a newscaster at WBUF and WKBW, a television producer at the Empire Sports Network, a sports talk host on WNSA Radio, and host of several public affairs programs on local cable outlets. She and her husband also authored seven national sports trivia books in the early 1990s and currently own Straight Up Wines and Liquors in Kenmore.
